Westminster Parliamentary Constituencies have been added to Local Insight

We are very pleased to report that we have added the 2024 Westminster Parliamentary Constituencies as Standard Areas to Local Insight for England, Wales and Scotland.

This update means that you can now easily create Custom Areas using the new set of boundaries for the constituencies that were used for the 2024 UK General Election.

You’ll find the new option within the Custom Area Manager – where we’ve also added regions, counties and more.

What’s new within Local Insight?

Local Insight allows you to aggregate data for any size of area, whether it’s an established geography, or boundary that you’ve defined yourself.

Over the last two weeks, we’ve increased the number of standard boundaries available within the platform significantly, adding:

  • Regions
  • Counties
  • Combined Authorities
  • 2024 Parliamentary Constituencies

To the existing list of:

  • Lower Layer Super Output Areas (LSOAs)
  • Middle Layer Super Output Areas (MSOAs)
  • Electoral Wards/Divisions
  • Local Authorities

How do I make Custom Areas based on these geographies?

To create a Custom Area based on one of the new standard areas, head to the Custom Area Manager on the sidebar. Then click the Standard Area button to find the new list of boundaries.

From here, you’ll have the option to create a new Custom Area from any of the new area types – and for boundaries like Local Authorities, you’ll find the option to choose the time point that the boundary is from, too.
