Share data directly from the Map screen

We’ve introduced a new feature to Local Insight – a ‘Share data’ button that allows you to directly link others to a preloaded Map.

Zoom into an area of interest, load up any combination of your Services, Custom Areas, and/or an indicator, and then click the button to generate a link to share your map with someone else.

We’ve created a link to show you just how the new feature works on our Example Public Site.

This link can be used by any other members of your organisation that have a Local Insight log-in, in the same way that the ‘Share Reports’ feature currently works.

For those with the Public Site add-on, generated links can be shared with anyone at all – allowing you to send external stakeholders links to relevant, pre-loaded maps.

You can find details on how to use the new Share button within the Help Centre [Subscription access].

Sharing insights

The “Share Map” functionality makes it quicker and easier than ever to “show” rather than “tell” when it comes to the data in Local Insight. Start exploring the functionality now and see how it can:

  • Build your organisation’s understanding of an area of interest by sharing your specific map view with team members before Project Planning meetings, and ensure everyone is on the same page.
  • Bring your reports and presentations to life with links to dynamic maps that always auto update with the latest data.
  • Save you time by removing the need to get the perfect screenshot.
