Download all indicator data at multiple geographic levels

We’re excited to announce that we have added a new, highly requested feature to Local Insight.

You can now download all available data for any indicator at any of the four key geographic levels within the platform: Lower Layer Super Output Area (LSOA), Middle Layer Super Output Area (MSOA), Wards, and Local Authority (LA).

How to download all available data for an indicator within Local Insight

We’ve made it easy to quickly download the data. To get started, simply:

  • Choose the indicator you want to display on the map
  • Open the indicator legend
  • Zoom to the level that you want to download the data at
  • Click the download button

What will the downloaded file look like?

The downloaded file includes two sheets.

  • Metadata: Information about the indicator, such as its source and the date it was last updated.
  • Data: The data for the indicator, split into Area Code, Area Name, and Value.

For LSOA, MSOA, and Ward files, we’ve also added a ‘Parent LA’ column that lists the corresponding Local Authority.

Anything else to know?

This feature will not be available on Public Sites.
